Prerequisites for the D-Link router setup

The placement of the wireless router is an important factor while installing the same. Make sure you configure your router with the computer that was last connected to the internet. Make sure you are connected to the internet before connecting the devices. Furthermore, if your internet service provider has provided you with a MODEM and router combo, you will need to set it to bridge mode so the router can work seamlessly with the other hardware. If you have DSL and are connecting via PPPoE, make sure you disable or uninstall any such software such as Win PoET, BroadJump or EnterNet 300. These software prevent you from connecting to the internet and may cause trouble in the long term.
